Hi, I’m Laurie James
Reliant Hope…
Your hope relies on something or someone. Let’s discover that together.
How?
With my training in mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health, I take a holistic approach to well-being and offer compassion and shame-reduction in sessions. My aim is to support you in identifying the areas that need care and attention, and find healing through a trauma-informed approach when it is needed. I come alongside clients to feel safe, understood, and supported while working through challenges (like anxiety, depression, relational difficulty, grief, and trauma) or navigating life transitions (such as marriage, motherhood, or moving into something new).
Why?
When you embrace your unique story, we will be able to work together to help you break free from frustrating patterns, live fully in the present, and discover hope for the future.
Who?
Hi I’m Laurie and I’m passionate about helping people discover reliant hope that gives resilience to walk through life. I married my high school sweetheart and we’ve been married for a quarter of a century while enjoying raising four children together. I enjoy no-math-involved board games, long walks with my husband, summer and fall in Wisconsin, and the rare Saturdays that pop up with nothing on the calendar. Coffee is my love language and I enjoy it even more over a good conversation.
Practice Focus:
Anxiety - Relational stress - Ministry hardship - Spiritual abuse - Grief & Loss - Life transitions - Spiritual concerns - Boundaries - Shame & Guilt
Rates
Therapy sessions are an investment in your health.
$100.00 for a 45-50-minute session, in-person or teletherapy.
Payment
Full payment is due at the time of service. Credit/debit cards, check or cash are all accepted for payment.
Insurance:
In order to prioritize client care, I do not bill through insurance plans.
All insurance companies require a DSM-5-TR diagnosis. Not all clients seek counseling services related to a mental health disorder and may seek counseling to address issues such as relational difficulties, financial hardships, adjustments, grief, or stressors of life.
Insurance companies require full access to your file which includes diagnosis, progress, symptoms, and evaluations/assessments and use this to dictate length of treatment. I desire for the course and method of treatment to be decided together with my client.
A superbill will be issued upon request. A client will never be caught off guard by the charge of treatment per the No Surprises Act.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, 24 hours notice in advance is required to avoid charges. If notice is given less than 24 hours, the full hourly rate will be charged. Emergencies are an exception to this. Thank you for understanding that kept appointments are key in your care and my availability to you and other clients.
